Our client have recently opened a new office in the Midlands and are looking to hire an Estimator to join the Team.
 
Reporting into the Head of Estimating, based in their Head Office.
 
A business with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality projects offering them a high percentage of repeat business opportunities.
 
Average project value would be £15M, specialising in D & B new build commercial offices / warehouses.  The business is a very professional set up, they offer excellent packages, training / mentoring and promote growth from within.  The geography of their contracts ranges from the South East into the Midlands.  However they pride themselves on ensuring that the correct staff are allocated to the projects closest to home. 
 
Key Responsibilities / Objectives

• To undertake commercial activities with a high degree of acumen.
• To identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process.
• To identify risks and opportunities.
• To price selected trades from first principles using agreed outputs.
• To lead the supply chain enquiry process.
• To produce a detailed control document at handover to delivery team.
• To conduct their role in a way which is consistent with the company’s sustainability objectives.
• To complete or manage project take–offs to the required level of detail.
• Constantly reinforce and deliver our customer first ethic. •To lead and prepare the complete commercial and pricing element of a tender or cost plan.

Essential & Desirable Criteria Proven Experience Of

• Accurate pricing from first principles of identified packages.
• Understanding of various construction methods.
• Using Microsoft suite of Office programmes; including Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Experience working with bespoke Estimating systems.
